Earlier this year, I celebrated my 10-year anniversary with Three Box Strategic Communications and was given the most thoughtful and valuable gift from the team in honor of the milestone. It was hard not to get emotional as I read a card that contained the details of my anniversary gift during our staff meeting.
“Over the years, you’ve given much of yourself to help build this company and our team, especially your time. So, we’d like to give you the gift of time as a token of our appreciation. Specifically, we want to give you time away in a place that inspires you, where you can go with someone you love to do anything you’d like. In 2018, you pick the destination – anywhere in the world – and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll cover your flights, hotel and a stipend for food and entertainment, as well as a work week off at no charge.”
Cue the happy tears.
When I accepted an associate position with the firm back in December 2007, I had no idea where the journey would lead. I definitely didn’t expect it to take me on an all-expenses-paid trip to Portugal this summer (see below for photos).
Everyone wants to feel appreciated and valued at work. I’m so fortunate to have found a work family that expresses appreciation on a daily basis and emphasizes work-life balance for all team members.
Thank you, Three Box, for the past 10 years and the trip of a lifetime. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.
